Bratislava Slovakia

Headed out of papa~ A typical Traffic Jam~ Tractor (with Hay)

Only way out of the traffic Jam~

Another Traffic Jam

Apparently this one is carrying Death.....

Almost there!

Exit!

We are now in Slovakia ~ Rules of the road!

Entering into Bratislava

Driving into the city- Hrad Castle

They call this the white house on Trip Advisor

one of the many Museum's in the city

Small Tourist Market

Bratislava is a city that is not lacking in art.
They have statues, new art, old art, graffiti/street art,
and artists creating art everywhere.
Its truly a beautiful and talented city.

We were hungry and wanted to try some traditional foods~
As we walked down the street a waiter said~ can I show you our menu? He pointed out traditional foods (not even knowing that's what we wanted) Jared and I looked at each other and said~ sure why not!
He looked around and realized there wasn't a good table in the shade (it was hot) so he ran inside grabbed a new table and set it up for us under an umbrella~ I am pretty certain that was the best service I have ever had a a restaurant! Food was amazing too~ very similar to Hungarian food with a little twist.

Noodles with sauerkraut, small chunk of meat and some cheese.

Potato breaded pork & roasted potatoes

Kids were unorrigional~ Chicken! LOL

Observation Deck ~
We were going to do this but there was one in a tower of the castle
and we were able to see the whole city from there. So we decided to skip this,

Hrad Castle

Observation Tower-

Half way up the tower

Almost to the top!

We made it!

Beautiful city!

Very step narrow stairs~ about 6 sets too!

One of the exhibits is articles from another Slovakian castle that is to the far south east.
Bratislava is South west. (There is a map farther down)

In March of 2012 there was a brush/wild fire that swept the hill and caught the castle on fire~ causing over 16 million euro in damages~ that's a LOT of $$$

This is some of the chard remains.
There are also some other items that were saved on harmed.
Jared speculated they may not have been in the castle at the time of the fire.
He's probably right.

un-chard remains

Slovakian Castles

Map~ Bratislava is on the far left bottom, the burnt castle is to the far bottom right.

Gunners favorite room- He REALLY enjoys the 3-D models

Couldn't resist the feet- as we left the castle!

My favorite Organic Cafe

Headed to the parking garage~ good bye city <3 I will miss you!

  1. Too bad there is graffiti. It kind of ruins things. Is there much English spoken?
