Lake Cave in Tapolca

We had planned to go see a castle~ But to tell you the truth, they aren't that fun when its warm out. They are all at the top of a hill you have to hike up and they are hot as the sun bounces off the stone walls. So i was kinda dragging my feet about going... But a quick look on Tripadvisor and I spotted something I had forgotten we wanted to do! So YAY~ Change of plans!

Once again~ headed out of town we ran into traffic! LOL this time an Ice cream truck.

Lake Cave

Entrance to the Lake Cave

Ice Cream while we wait.....

Stairs to the Cave~ I still wonder HOW they came across this place???

Keep Going - 72 steps to the bottom!

We made it! (Looking up at the ceiling

Through that doorway is the stairway we took down

The Lake~ its more of a stream... but its called a cave Lake so....

The Boats!

The start of the self guided tour~ Takes about 10-15 min

They were excited!

The water was so blue!

Jared did the paddling but most of the time you could push yourself along from the rocks and in some tight areas that was all you could do because the paddle wouldn't fit.

Looking up

Looking down

DUCK!

Behind us

Smile!

Look I was there too!

Looking a head

Tight fit

See no paddling in this spot!

After the boat tour~ walking along another small section of the cave we found a few more areas of water

72 stairs back up! That was fun~ we would do that again!

Then we had dinner in Noszlop

Brocoli stuffed Turkey

Cordon Blue

Mushroom Chicken

Apricot Langos- We were expecting Apricot Jam~ but this was good

Cranberry Jam & Apricot Jam Crepe

At the restaurant they sell the towns pickled goods. We chose Pickled Garlic to take home.

These where all over the place when we fist got to Hungary at the very end of Sept. But they didn't look so great, the wind, rain & sun had weathered them. This is the first we have seen up this year and they are super cute (check out the eyes!). Its in a small town just outside of Papa, called Papakovacsi.

They may be advertising a festival??? Falunap translated to Village Day!
