Cseszneki Vár

We weren't sure if the weather would hold today. Some weather said rain some said mostly cloudy.

We decided to chance it and headed out to:
Cseszneki Vár

*Remember Var Means Castle*

Foggy road out in the country.

Water Tower

Love the stone guard rails

Off 82 - Up to the Castle

We are there, time to hike up to the top.

I walked up to take a picture of this sign and the goose below let out a big HONK way before I even saw him. Boy was I startled! LOL

HONK

Lets go see a castle!

The Knights of the castle!

I thought they were goats at first... Nope just weird sheep!

Not very fierce guardians of a castle!

Souvenirs

Squished Forint

Tower

inside the tower

Main part of castle

Sheep

Looking back across to the tower, you can see where they
have replaced the brick to keep the tower standing.

My Men!

Boys being boys, trying to stay safe from the hot lava!

Perimeter

We wanted to cross the bridge but it was gated off!

A lot of the castle was built of of really beautiful (I think) limestone.

Photo of the bridge over the fence.

More limestone

Fire-pit and what looks like used to be a chimney.

Hungarian Flag

What a great expedition with the family and our friends! :)

Church on the way out of town!

Bus Stop

Castle from a lookout just up the road a few miles, Across from a biker restaurant.
We saw lots of motorcycles up there. It was really cool and didn't seem very Hungarian.
We are learning new things everyday.

From Left to right: The first tower we were in, Main castle,
we walked around the outside on this side up to the bridge.
Then back over between the flag pole and the main castle
and up some stairs into the main castle area.

Hope you enjoyed the tour!

The weather held out and there were even moments
of sunshine peaking through the clouds!
