Happy Palm Sunday

It started to sprinkle~ They made each other umbrellas.

I am fairly certain this is the first year I am really begging to understand

what Holy Week is and the significance of Palm Sunday and how it

all fits together. Its actually all really neat. The kids are really loving it and understanding it too.

So today is Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week....

6 days before passover Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a Donkey......

Back then when a King rode in on a Donkey it signified Peace,

Had he rode in on a Horse it would have signified War.

It was customary for people to lay out Palms on the road when a King rode through.

So as Jesus rode in on a donkey a crowd gathered and laid out there

coats and palm branches for Jesus to ride over on his donkey.

The only Donkey I had was my Nativity Donkey so he helped Narrate our story tonight.

John 12

The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem.  They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,"Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!""Blessed is the king of Israel!" John 12:12-13
